I wear my heart on my sleeve

I am very much a "heart on my sleeve" girl, so couldn't resist picking up this tag from Rosie at Corners of my mind.

What is your current obsession?
Blogging of course - I get very giddy when one of you posts something new, and doubly giddy when you leave me a comment.

What is your weirdest obsession?
I am the most normal person in the world - by my standards anyway!! Its every body else that's weird!! I do like to sit around my Chimenea - even if its snowing - wrapped up in a blanket and with a hot water bottle. Is that weird?

What are you wearing today?

I have changed out of my work skirt and sleeveless top into my cut off combat trousers and vintage T shirt (ok, its an old T shirt, most of my clothing is vintage!!)

Whats for dinner?

Lamb Tagine with shallots and roasted root vegetables.

What would you eat for your last meal?

Tough one - but I suppose Roast Beef and Yorkshire puddings might be my favorite. With a bottle of red and Creme Caramel for pudding.

What was the last thing you bought?

The very last thing was an in car charger for the young mans PS3 as I am fed up with him whinging about being bored in the car!!! For myself it was a magic pair of trousers from M&S!! Ive put a ton of weight on around my middle and feel incredibly bulky. These "Kex" as they are called in Yorkshire, have no waistband or pockets so do not add any extra bulk. They are a bit stretchy, so combined with my magic knickers I look half decent!!!!!

What are you listening to right now?

Jeremy Clarksons voice!!! The young man watches endless repeats of Top Gear - so much so that I feel like I live with Jezza!! (God forbid!!). Musically, I am listening to "The singular adventures of the Style Council". I had this on LP, but bought it on CD recently. (I tried to put some of the tracks on my bloggy music player thingy but it seemed to break it!!). I didn't used to like Paul Weller in his early days, but I love him now.

If you could have a house fully paid for and fully furnished, anywhere in the world, where would it be?

I'm a bit torn. Of course St Ives is in the running, but I loved it in La Flotte on the Ile De Re last year - The little market place was lovely and the french shopped every morning here. I really like the french way of living and I would love to live on a small Island. (photo above)

If you could go anywhere in the world for the next hour, where would you go?

To Manchester to see what the Dancing Queen is up to !! She has joined a dance crew over there and has to go twice a week now. Manchester is full of ruffians!! (stands back to await comment on this from Gilly!!!)

Favorite Holiday destination?

St Ives - when its sunny!

Favorite Quote?

"If tha wants summat doin reaght, do it thi sen" (A bit of Barnsley for you!!)

Favorite colour?

Appears to be blue, but I do wear a lot of red.

What's your favorite piece of clothing in your wardrobe?

My cut off combat trousers that convert to shorts - invaluable for camping. They don't trail in the wet grass, and I can tan my legs should the sun appear.

Whats your dream job?

I'd love a bookshop like the one in "Youve got Mail", or a cafe where I hired "guest chefs" and "Strolling musicians". I'd also like to be an organic gardener in a walled garden.

Describe your personal style.

Comfortable!!

Favorite Tree?

Apple tree - i'd love an orchard. When people ring up for me, i'd love to be able to say "I was in the orchard"!!! (I have 1 apple tree!)

What are you doing straight after this?

Taking the young man to his cricket practice.

Favorite Fruit?
Blackberry's

What inspires you?

You bloggers do! or anyone with enthusiasm and a positive outlook.

Favourite Book?

My Family and other Animals by Gerald Durrell. I have slowly morphed into Mrs Durrell over the years!!

Go to your bookshelf, take down the first book with a red spine and go to page 26. Type out the first line.

A wooden staircase leads from the downstairs passage to the next floor (B).
(The Diary of Anne Frank)

What delighted you most today?

Speaking to my best friend on the phone today. Both her and her hubby are ill, yet she is still managing to keep cheerful.

Whats your earliest childhood memory?

We used to live with my Grandma and Grandad and I remember standing at their garden gate stopping passers by and asking them to talk to me - a bit like I do with bloggers these days!!!

Whats your favorite all time film?
Far far too many to choose from, but Ive just bought myself a copy of "Whistle down the wind" (the old one with Hayley Mills). I loved this film when I was little - though it made me cry every time!!

Please feel free to "pick this up" and reveal a little more about yourself.

I loved that film! Actually, I loved all Hayley Mills' films when I was younger. I don't think i've ever seen any on dvd, must keep a look out. Why don't they show these films on a Saturday afternoon like they used to?
Really enjoyed reading about you.
Take care
((hugs))

Hi Diane

Thanks so much for stopping by and for leaving me a note the other day (or should I say week, I am very naughty!), it's much appreciated :)

Really enjoyed reading your answers. I love Gerald Durrell's books too, have you read any of his others? I fell in love with My Family & Other Animals when I was about 10 and lucky for me my parents had some of the others too. His sister wrote a good one as well :)

Boo! hello Diane, I love your heart shaped stones, gorgeous. Thanks for stopping by my blog, so glad you liked all Hampton Court loveliness. You will be pleased to know that I am also obsessive about Cornwall! I try to get there as often as possible.
I am mad about Lawrence Durrel, The Avignon Quintet and my absoloute favourite is The Alexandria Quartet.
Oh and I adored the BBC adaptation of My Family and other animals a couple of Christmases ago! It was so beautifully shot, gorgeous locations and really good casting too!
Sorry now I am in full flow...streams of consciousness!Have a lovely weekend

Hi Diane, the lamb tagine sounds good, mind if I pop over? I also live with several of the Top Gear obsessed; sadly it is not a treatable condition.

Oh, good - you did give it a go - have enjoyed reading your answers. You always bring back memories for me - I remember 'Whistle down the Wind' - I remember reading My Family and Other Animals, too. I seem to remember the Geckos on the walls of the house the family lived in. Oh for a bookshop:) I adored that one in You Got Mail:)
